Well, I just got this external modem and got it set up and connected. Wow, I look at the speed according to the icon and it says 115200 bps..............that can't be...it is a 56K modem.
So I download a 3MB file and see what the numbers are.
It took 10 min-20 sec to download. It started at 10KB/s and ended up at 4.96 KB/s download speed.
I'm not very good at figuring this out but what bps would that work out to? It can't be 115200 bps, could it.
I also remember someone writing about a small program that is part of Windows that shows the modem speed. Anyone remember what it is and where it is??
