Are the pipelines as short as an Athlon 64?
I'm wondering, because I saw a post showing a Core 2 Duo at a Netburst-like 5 ghz!
Are the pipelines still longer than an Athlon 64's?
Or do they just OC like God?

I believe Conroe has 14 stage pipelines and a 4-issue instruction width.
Pentium 4 if my memory serves me correctly had 20 stage pipe.
AMD's was 12 stages.
This is all i got from searching google :)

C2D has 16 stage. A few more then K8.
P4 IIRC was 31
both are from memory on my part so
baa.. it was 14 stage..
C2D/K8 chart I found some time ago in chinese (google translated for readablity :p)

Pipeline is shorter than on A64, Conroes just have a better manufacturing process (65nm). Also the top performance by Mhz on the conroe is around 3.3-3.4Ghz if I remember correctly, after that performance still grows but slower...

Check the link I posted. C2D's pipeline is 2 stages longer then K8.
Other arch. differences over the K8 are also discussed in the artical.
