I'm in a bit of a predicament

should I buy a 40gig 7200rpm@$160Cnd ~$107Amd

or a 60gig 5400rpm@$200Cnd ~$133Amd

I don't do any video editing or anything that i think i would need a 7200 for

how big is the performance dif between a 5400 & 7200

i don't really care about make, cheaper the better

all i'd really be doing is watching videos, MP3s, gaming (FPS & RTS)

Thanks

I would go with the 40gig myself...but it all depends on what you will use it for. If you need huge space go with the 60. But for performance go with the 40.

Best buy has a 40gig 5400rpm Maxtor for 69.99. I didn't buy one because I just don't need one...

7200 over 5400rpm anyday!!!

why?

Becuase IMHO it is all around a better built product and will have a longer better service life to me ... the 5400 RPM drive is slow, and easily bogged down when transfering huge files or multiple files at once.... the 40G @ 7200 is a much better buy than the 60G @ 5400rpm

Sorry for my rudeness, WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!!!
