View Full Version : Condensation Barrier?

I was thinking about this after reading some messages in the Mineral Oil thread... Couldn't you, in theory, build a small water tight chamber to be placed around the CPU or whatever you were going to cool, fill it full of mineral oil, and seal it?

So now we could have any high wattage pelt/waterblock setup we wanted, and as long as the heat removal is by some medium other than the oil, such as the water block, condensation won't form.

You might need a burp valve to get the oil level perfect, some caulk to for added security, But I don't see any reasons why this wouldn't work? Anyone?

why not just surrond the socked in silicon. thats what people are doing now.

I don't think I'm seeing how that will work...

Where is the pelt going?

1. Doesn't the slicon crack and stuff at extreme temperatures?

2. The pelt would go where it normally goes, but the power cords and tubing from the waterblock would simply go through the side of the chamber, you could seal it up over that stuff...
