Is it really worth it to switch over to new ddr2 ram, or should i stay with ddr and keep my current rig?....

please let me know your thoughts

A DDR2 equiped am2 is peanuts performence benefit over a good 939 system so it would be a little silly to upgrade the whole shabang for just that. you can find some deals on 2gb kits out there. you could always run 4x512 too. if you oc, the 2t wont hurt you really.

.....

as ever other o/cer out there i'm conserned with high memory clock speeds ..

this ram i saw in the paper

Try these guys:

They hang out here, will answer your PM or email and seem to be decent folks. Their products have a good repuation, fair prices and good support. No, I'm not one of them!

I like DDR2 personally and with decent priced excellent boards for am2 finally out, as well as 65nm coming out in two weeks s939 is a dead platform.

The 3,3,3,8 rated kits of Team group ram on here are great for AMD mine do 4,4,4,6@500mhz and 2.15v so thats what I would go with although they are slightly spendy.

Is not really about whether or not its worth it. It comes down to future use. Sure you can waste more money on DDR now, but what are you going to do when you upgrade in the next 6 to 12 months? I would scour the for sale section and find some really cheap stuff to hold you over.

I would also buy some sticks out of the classifieds. You should be able to get a real good gig set for like $100
