ok, I have seen threads like this in the past, but I looked about and didn't see a recent one. I am looking for the following:

1) Cheap....not grossly..but cheap

2) Stability...its gonna be my second computer...surfing da net while playing Dark Age of Camelot...ect..

3) Doesn't have to be DDR, but if price is right...what the hay..

4) Onboard Sound...most are half way decent these days

This is going to be my second computer for surfing and such while I play my newest Addiction Dark age of Camelot. I would appreciate any suggestions, and I thank you in advance.

Hey take a look At my second rig in my sig. Extremely cheap and stable. The pluses are it has sound, DDR or SDRam, and onboard LAN. The minuses are the board is nothave a many overclocking options. This was the system that I originally built and am completely satisfied with it especially for the price.

How fast can that duron complete a villin? Shuttle AK31 is pretty cheap too. I been keeping my eye peeled. Newegg has a 7237 enlight tower for 47$ I gotta figure a way to scrape up some extra dough. My 366 celery ain't cutting it:(

I haven't timed a villian yet but I'll try and get foldmonitor on there sometime today and let you know. If you have any other questions about that mobo/chip Flounder43 is a quit knowledgable source. I also remember that about a week or so ago someone posted that newegg was selling refurbished ECS boards for ~$37- ya may wanna check that out.

Cheers!

Finally got the new version of foldmonitor on my comp and boy do I like it. It was so easy to set up the client list . Well i know its a little late but belorsch you wanted to know how long it took to do a villian. Well the Duron is doing a frame every 6.5 minutes which works out to be 6.5x100/60=10.8 hours-I think I did the math right. Now to compare my Athon XP is doing frames at 3.8min which works out to be 6.3 hours per villian. Does that sound about Right?

Those are numbers for completing the 100 framed villans and not the 1000.

The fastest pc I have does a villin frame in a little over 15min:( Thats the p3 in my sig, and that is a speed demon compared to the rest of my folding lot. Oh well at least they're fast enough to get them in and still make the time deadline. Hopefully I have the money saved up for a new duron setup soon. Thanks Piper and good luck joshiieeii.
