Well all of a sudden when im in WinXp, my internet will not work, all my Im software and WinMX, and all my online games work. But when i open internet explorer, i t jsut stops and does not display a page. Never fully loads. I did a system restore to an eariler date when it worked and still no good. I mean i go to favorites to try a diff page, and it just clicks tha page and stops, and when i try ot close it it takes forever. Same with other stuff, it is just becoming choppy. Like i open a folder and it just shows the hourglass then disappears, THEN the folder opens like 20-30 seconds later. Any idea why, and i didnot change anything that i can think of?

And i did ipcoinfig- release, renew. andl uninstalled and reistalled all TCPIP i am lost

I thought it was just me, I've noticed that WinXP just craps out on me for no reason after using it for a few weeks.

Especially when I did an upgrade instead of a fresh install. It didn't like me upgrading at all, worked for a while but slowly died, then when I would do a system restore to when it work it still didn't work.

I did a fresh install and it's been working longer, but I've still noticed it's slowly dying.

You might want to try uninstalling your network card drivers and set everything up again, sometimes that resolves problems. Also make sure it's just set up correctly. If you're using a cable modem unplug the power on it for a while when you reinstall drivers.

When you do ipconfig does it show you as having an IP? Also check the status of your connection and see if any packets are being recieved. It's possible that your ISP screwed something up.

I havnt really noticed this, try this: go into control panel/network Connection/and click on connection your using. than click on support tab, and hit the button that say's repair. i beleive its uninstalling and reinstalling your tcp/ip.
if that dosnt work, sacrifice a goat to the gods and pray that msft tech support will help...
