Hey all here's the deal im going to be getting myself a P4 1.5GHz Chip this X-mas and I want to know what the very BEST cpu Fan/HeatSink Combo is for it. Im not going to overclock but I want it to run as cold as possible without going water cooled ect..
so if you could make me a list of the "most coldest" p4 fans I'de be very happy! I've heard some of the OCZ fans are the best but I dont know jack about fans..hence im turning to you folks!
Thanks in advance

:) Well, I couldn't tell you the best fan/heatsink, but I can tell you this: take the cap off of the processor (yes, this voids the warranty) and stip away the thermal grease. Replace the thermal grease with arctic silver. Since you're using air cooling, I would definitely recommend a peltier with a wattage of at least 60 (may need more depending on overclocking). Also, copper heatsinks are better than aluminum ones.

Sorry to burst your bubble Daovonnaex but dont suggest this to a newbie who doesnt even want to overclock. He could VERY easily crack a core.

To the original poster, the majority of socket A HS/F will work very well on a 1.5 P4. If you said a 1.4 athlon, then we would need to suggest something potent...

The majority of stock coolers will work. If you can get one to come with it, it will definately be sufficient if you do not plan on overclocking

Actually, I don't overclock my CPU (building a new system with overclocking, though), I just use a great deal of cooling for stability purposes.
