I was able to hit a little over 3.63 ghz but it would not stay bootable for Windows XP for long. Right now I backed it down to 3.6 and I am still testing stability on it at this speed. Here are the specs: 450x8, CPU vcore is actually at 1.425v and RAM is at 2.3v with a 1:1 divider. If I can keep this game stable at this speed I will probably do back flip! :bday:

I really liked the huge improvement in super-pi. The first PC I ever clocked with super pi was a P4 3.2ghz at stock with PC2700 ram= 34 minutes. 2nd PC was at the time a AMD Opteron 165 at 2.84ghz with OCd PC3200 RAM= 27 minutes, the current E6400 did it in 14.56 min. I love this thing!

Whats some of the voltages your running with that setup? I'm curious since i feel an urge tonight to play wiht my clocks again.

Here are the current settings I have it at. I actually ended up backing it down to 3.4 to keep it game stable and to keep the temps down.

CPU vcore: 1.425v
MB vcore: 1.55v
SB vcore: 1.60v
RAM: 2.10v

CPU freq= 425

My temps are: 43*C idle and around 50-52*C under load. My biggest concern was stablility during gaming. I did like to bench it at 3.6 and I'm sure this thing can get even higher if I play with mem timings but I am happy with this for now.

Cool. I know my setup currently plays very well but does use a little bit more CPU voltage to get the same speed stable as you.

For my 3464 clock I have it setup as..

CPU: 1.4625V
NB: 1.45V (thats right quiet low and 1.25V was adiquate and might be still even at this speed last test I did with that was 3.13Ghz)
SB: 1.6V (more or less to stabilize things up)
Ram: 2.15 (just playing safe)

Temps are nearly exact to mine during orthos. Gaming of course at least in the 1 game I know uses DC very well it bearly bearly hits 48C nearly fully load on both cores (95% on one and 80-90% on the second).

Damn... everybody seems to be faster than my fastest overclock... then again I'm only running CAS5 so I guess that's normal. When Vista comes out, and RAM prices go through the roof, I'll sell the RAM that I have now and get myself some CAS4.

Your overclock is very similar to mine in terms of volts and everything though.

is that orthos stable?

Is the VID really that low on your CPU Rainless? Or did u modify something to make it show lower. BTW When ya say similar voltage what is it RL? Been a while since I've seen your main thread so curious.

Well after some tweekeing I was able to get it to stay game stable at 3.6ghz...

My temps are much lower and I did reseat my waterblock which helped a lot. now I'm idling at 44*C and both games which I play only get it to 50*C! I upped the vcore on the CPU to 1.475v and the RAM to 2.25. The funny thing is that its not orthos stable. I did run just about every sisandra bench with it without any issues.

No it's really that low. Didn't modify anything... wouldn't actually KNOW how to modify anything :)

The volts for 3.648ghz? It was 1.425 I believe.

3.63ghz is probably orthos stable with my current cooling. 3.648 is probably not. Didn't really try to run orthos above 3.6 because of the temps. Soon I'll switch to a larger heatsink and see if that makes a difference. I'll be bringing back tons of goodies from my christmas trip to the states...

PCMark, Games etc everything but orthos. My E6600 was stable in orthos at 1.5V for 3.4Ghz, yet was stable in everything else running 3.5Ghz except orthos would crash in a few seconds.

Its not stable man don't be fooled by it, expecially that temp, unless gaming is the most stressful thing you do on your PC.

CPUz doesn't show the correct vcore.. my shows like his too. the bios monitor shows 1.3 it only shows 1.1XXX... also it's a bit lower than what u set it to be... i set mine at 1.35 and it only do 1.3...

my E6600 booted into window and i was playing super PI with it for about 2-3 hours at 3.6ghz (400 X 9)... 1.3V :).... but i'm sure it's not stable.... my ram get here today... i'll probably play with it all day while studying for my final.

I know CPUz doesn't show the correct VID... but CoreTemp (also in pic) does.
