Hey,
So I have a bunch of files that I have on DVD now that I have been moving from reformat to reformat and they seem to be corrupt in some way. The files can be excel, pictures (which I really don't want to lose) or something else and they show that they are taking up X space but there is nothing there. The pictures might be blank (red X) when opened or have half the picture showing with weird blocks and grey area. I have run virus scans ect. on the files and it doesn't show anything wrong.
Now here are my questions, is it possible that the virus lives in the files after copied to a DVD? I have had a bad string of my hard drive going corrupt and having to use a recovery program to get files off the computer. I can't pin point it to these files but after X amount of reinstalls I am sure that is the issue.
Anyhow, I am looking for the best way to see which files are ok to save. I am going to do a final reinstall some point here and would like to put as many of the files back on my computer.
