I have the Rio-180 and all i hear is the sound of the 3 80mm fans blowing on the rad. As a matter of fact a 7200R.P.M. hard drive is louder then my cooling set-up. If you want look at the Rio-400.

I just got done talking about this over at HWC.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a Attwood and running 7v I am going to bet it is still putting out 250GPH at least. At 12v it about blows the water out of my resivoir. Best part it only cost me $14. Online it can be had for $12 not including shipping. In my fridge with the door shut I can barely hear it, at 7v I can't.

It is reviewed here and is supposed to be one of the best for throughput. They had a problem though since it didn't have tinned wires and I am not sure how that was a problem. Maybe for corrosion or something. In a H2O cooling set up though it should not see salt and other stuff like it would outside and in the hull of a boat.

Her is a pic of it.

And the link to one place it is sold. They are selling it for $12 here. Nice price indeed.

You know if 500gph is too small for you I think they make a 750 and 1000 model too.

hmm

the only thing about bilge pumps are that they are normaly used for such a long time unless you have a very leaky boat:D

you may get a pm from me asking you if its still running in a couple of weeks....

I have this 150gph that is silent but I donno if it puts out enough gph but I may try it anyways

hmm it would have to push water through 2 radiator and 3 blocks:eek:

I think the rio pumps are too big:(

It says it is a long life pump and has a 3year warranty if anything goes wrong. I see no reason why it can't run 24/7. It is just like anyother fishtank pump I have opened up except this one runs on 12v. I can even run it at 7v. I am sure if you wanted too you could even run it at 10v with a rheostat or whatever you can put on the line to tone down the voltage a bit.

well.....

maybe that will be my next pump thin:)
anyways its only $12+shipping and if it didnt work right I could use it in my boat

Hey ol'man you say your runing it at 7v so I guess its DC powered? If yes can you list the Amperage it pulls and the other specs if you know them?

It draws 1.4 amps they say which will extend the pumps life I guess.

I run it with a old AT PSU I have laying around. If you have a adjustable PSU it would be nice with this too cause you could turn down the volts it puts out to adjust flow. I have one and I have had it hit like 10.5v before. Sometimes the PSU has a little rheostat on them. If you wanted you could use the same rheostat to turn up the PSU too to probably over 13v. I think this pump here is rated at 13.6v @ 500GPH so at 7v I would guess it would be at~ 250GPH. I could be wrong though. At 12v it would probably be around 450GPH. I checked their site again and they had 750 and 900GPH pump too. These are all submersible.

WOW

that is realy weird

I just got done testing both my 150gph and 350gph at filling up a bucked

each pump had to push water through 2 radiators and 3 loops and my 150gph pump did it in 40sec and 350gph pump did it in 50 sec

Im going to try my 150gph pump out first sense it is dead silent and for some reason better at pushing water thin my 350gph

wow I think I just figured out why
my 150gph has just a normal impeller and my 350gph has a magnet that turns the impeller
I bet that the magnet isnt made to do so much extra work and isnt as powerful as the normal motorized one

I feel so smart now:D
