I have an eVGA 7900GT with nVidia reference clocks (one of the first 7900GT models they released). If I wanted to run SLI, are there any limitations on the additional card I'll need, i.e. do I need the EXACT make and model card, or will any 7900GT card work? I realize that in the latter case, my clocks would probably be limited by the lesser of the two cards. Thanks in advance for your help.

Any 7900GT would work. :)

any 7900 gt will work but must has the same gpu core and must have the same amount of video ram.

other than that your set

(also)

if you find a 7900 gt and it has a little bit of a slower clock than the original I'm sure that you will be able to over clock that card to meet the master card

Great, thanks for the quick responses!

Second question: Would my Fortron AX-500A be up to the task of powering two 7900GTs?

if you get a slower card. take the faster one out and put the slower one in and see if it will run what the faster card runs. If the slower card will keep up with the faster one then just flash the slower card to the default speed of the faster card and voila your done! This way you dont have to worry about putting a slower card in and your faster card actually slowing down to meet the slower card. or you could just get the same card you have now and put it in and not worry about it.

From personal experience with two overclocked 6800GS cards in SLI, the answer would be NO. Your rails would probably be all over the place.
