View Full Version : Team stat counter...
A thread like this was posted a week or so ago and I finally got the guys over at SETICount.de (http://www.seticount.de) to add our team to their database.
I originally signed us up but it never worked...seems their site went down afterwards and we were wiped back off. Never could get us back into their database as I was getting errors when submitting the team. I asked them to add us via their guestbook and we made it on their today.
This counter provides a real-time counter for the total number of WUs we've completed. They also have a difference counter which I have no idea about, haha.
Anyway, thought this might be a worthwhile addition to the team page or any individual SETI pages any of you might have, like me (my link is in my sig and the counter is on the left menu if you want take a look).
Thought it also might be a nifty idea to include a page that has our counter and maybe a few of the other teams we are closing in on...kind've like the graph we have except in real-time numbers...just a thought.
If this seems worthwhile and anyone has any questions about adding the code for the counter just drop me a line.
That's really cool - I think I'll add it to the team page some place. Thanks for getting us signed up.

We did but Chawken found his way off the team list again and it dropped his total.
It'll be back to normal when it's fixed.

i was the one who post the original tread 'bout this SETI Counter thing. and besides the total team counter, is there anyone who know how to show a "personal" live counter? the seticounter.de used to have a personal counter service too. however, couldn't read and the link seems dead now.....??

Just how "live" is this counter? I uploaded the two WUs I had in my cache yesterday, and the counter didn't update with a refresh. Waited 20 minutes, and it still didn't update. Is it a daily thing? I was going to be so happy when I saw my 2 WUs on the counter!

well, i've just checked my site's SETI page (http://www.mydigitaldarkroom.com/seti.htm), and compare w/ the link from my SETISpy, it does seem a little bit off.:rolleyes:
what i think is, it "might" just once a day or a few times a day. 'cos i don't really think it would be every minute tho. if i could figure out how to put a "personal counter", then i'll sure know how often it will be updated. but i would say at least a couple times a day for sure. more like 2-4 times, i guess......:rolleyes:
