Looks pretty good, It will be for the PSP, and will generate alot of sales for that little hand held too if you ask me.
Sweet Science! When will SquareEnix stop pushing more Final Fantasy games onto the market? Especially when this is just a spinoff of a game that is damn near 10 years old!
Note to SquareEnix: Please, at some point in the near future, make a Final Fantasy game that is truly, the Final Fantasy!

VII was probably the greatest of them all (though I loved II). So it's not surprising they'd want to do a backstory on those characters. And now enough time has passed to be able to appreciate it. There aren't many series with the longevity of Final Fantasy (as far as RPGs go... there are practically NONE.)
I think christmas is looking very bright for the PSP. Metal Gear comes out next week. Finaly Fantasy will be out soon. I even get a new wrestling game under the tree.
Rainless will be happy :)

the question is when is SquareEnix going to make a new game...something other than titles that Squaresoft started?......that looks like it could be good...I didn't watch the whole thing...is the fighting system action?..doesn't look turn based...that could kinda suck.
About time a decent game enters the pipeline. I'm hoping Jeanne d'Arc comes out here too and doesn't suck.
It is some kind of real time action with an odd combo system it looks like. Could be really good. I couldn't understand a word of it but the story looked awesome.
And personally, I could care less if SquareEnix never made anything but FF games for the rest of my life. As long as ppl buy them, why stop. Almost all of them have been excellent and almost all of them are totally new stories. Just to bad I ditched my PSP, just to long of a wait for a good game. Like the DS Lite much more overall, and loving FFIII right now.

I'm a FF7 Fanboy. i don't care if people hate fanboys and stuff. i love FF7. HEEEEEEE
this game is going to FORCE me to re-buy the PSP....yes RE-buy.. I bought one the DAY the thing originall came out here in the U.S. about 4 - 6 months later, i sold it.
Then again, i can always use my Dad's PSP. He hasn't played it in like 6 months. So i'm sure he'll let me use it for this one game. if not, i'm dropping the cash, and getting another!
And i'm still optimisitc about the idea of a FF7 remake. I mean, recently they have been shoving FF7 back into the public's face. with Kingdom hearts, Kingdom hearts 2, FF7: Advent children, Dirge of cerberus, Crisis Core, And the Cell phone game out in japan ( if its out yet that is ). Almost seems like they are trying to re-build the FF7 fanbase to me.
at least...i HOPE. and i still have hope.
and if they DO remake it, and if it would come out on the PS3...that alone will garantee the PS3 at LEAST #2 spot in the console wars. they will blow past the wii. And i personally GARANTEE that this game alone would blow past Halo 3 which is due out next year.
it would garantee sony millions of units to be sold, and millions of this game being bought instantly. There's just TOO MANY FF7 Fanboys to think otherwise.
though...thats IF a remake is made, and if its done on the PS3, or any console with sony. All i know is that IF its remade, and which ever company's console its on, will garantee they won't lose the console wars.

Its a prequel to the FF7 storyline. You play as Zack. its going to give more info on sephiroth, before he went all insane, And on Genises, also code named "G". Evidently, he's a super-soldier like sephiroth, except he wasn't infused with jenova's cells. But yet, he is also a One Winged angel. He has one giant wing on his right side for some reason.
other than that, i don't really know a whole lot more about it. though, i do want to know more about Genises, and why he has a wing, and why he's so strong without the jenova cells.
Even better, that just adds to the storyline of FF7!
The FF7 Movie was quite awesome as well. Too bad it didn't get a theatrical debut instead of the crap one "spirits within".

Not another spinoff~ :rolleyes: Why can't they stop with all this FF7 junk and just release the remake on the PS3 already?! If Sony actually made enough PS3s for the masses, and a remake came out, Sony would have it made.
I want Square to actually put effort into products for real consoles, not some tiny handheld. Reminds me of how I would have loved to play Tactics Advance, but I'm not going to pay for a mini-machine that simply cannot reproduce the same experience as playing on a full system.
At least it's not more crap from Enix. I swear I'll never play an RPG from them again.

Jeanne D'arc? Well I hope it isn't based on the horrible PC version I beta tested a few years back.
But if it comes out in Europe all I have to do is walk into the store at the end of the block and buy it.

Have you played a PSP? It's not a friggin' DS Lite. They can MORE than match the console experience (as far as a PS2 is concerned anyway...) Half the games on the PSP are improved Playstation games. Some of which finally have online functionality that the PS2 never had before. Hell, the PSP version of Marvel Ultimate Alliance has more characters and you can go online with it too.

I wanna know whats the deal with the guy that has the white wings >_>... Sephiroths brother or another clone or something?! someone from the same project? idk. I think it will be a excellent story
Here's how I feel about FFVII. Fantastic game, ending was amazing, assumed the world was destroyed at end of game.
Here's how I feel about other stuff associated with FFVII (including the movie). Total crap which twists the plot of the original, which was fine in itself. Much akin to the Matrix sequels...

:shrug: i kinda liked Dirge of Cerberus....but then again, i bought it for the story alone, and not the gameplay. The gameplay wasn't too bad, could have been better, but i'v definetly played worse.
I just hope crisis core is LONGER than Dirge of Cerberus...cause the length of the game is my main complaint.

How could you assume the world was destroyed? Cloud killed Sephiroth, the lifeforce stopped Meteor, and everyone lived happily ever after.
The world wasn't destroyed, but I thought it returned to a more primordial state with no cities or humans.

Instead of games I would prefer movies I loved Advent Children and a movie set to the game would be a lot better I think.
Final Fantasy VII game wise should of been left alone now, As for Deige Of Cerberus I saw it at my mates as he bought it on launch and I think it looks crap. Advent Children was a good idea as the FF7 world hadn't been visited for a long time another movie I would except but there's too many games for my liking coming out now. And they look rubbish the cutscenes have had more attention then the ingame graphics have put together.

no, because well...if that was true advent children wouldn't have been able to have come to be, as everyone would be dead. :p
what happened, was that the pepole left midgar, and decided to leave it in ruins. at least, thats the assumption. as that was only 500 years into the future, and i doubt all the humans died in only 500 years. as that is what advent children was about. Stopping geostigma from wiping out the entire population.
In the FF7 ending, what little bit of it there is, we see Yuffie looking out over an overgrown Midgar, so obviously humankind wasn't destroyed.

In FF7 you get the ending where Meteor is about to smash into the planet then Holy comes across trying to stop it but it can't. When they all think it's failed the LifeStream kicks in and helps holy destroy Meteor and that's it a flash of light on the screen & no-one know what happens. At the end of the credit's you get Red XIII running through the mountains with his 2 cubs towards Midgar.
On the cliff we see Midgar covered in trees and plants and animals are all living there that was 500 years after the final battle. Advent Children was 2 years after the final battle and as stated Geostigma is a virus that was created by Sephiroth in the LifeStream. When Cloud's memory was called by him and you Omnislashed him and killed him the LifeStream finally killed his spirit off but notice it split into 3 pieces. Thats when Kadja, Yazoo and the other 1 where born in Nortern Creator and then Advent Children story begins.
