View Full Version : Zelda and other Wii Games
Ok, so I got a Wii yesterday, along with Zelda. I am looking to pick up a good multiplayer game, can anyone make any suggestions? I obviously already have Wii Sports, so I was thinking of getting excite truck or monkey ball. Or what about TH Downhill Jam? Thoughts? Opinions?
Secondly, Zelda. The game is awesome... up until now. I'm stuck at the beginning where you need to catch a fish for the cat. I can't catch any fish, I can't even get them to bite. I dont even know really how to fish, every time I put my lure in the water it goes up and down (is it supposed to do that?) and nothing happens. Last night I got some fish to bite, but then I pulled the pole up and i didnt catch them or something. argh :bang head so frusterating.
Thanks :)

I liked excite truck multiplayer, but I haven't played the other ones.
As far as fishing goes, throw the line into the water and your bobber will sink a little ways. After a while you will see some fish swim up to it and then take the hook (the bobber will sink down very fast). When this happens just pull up on your wiimote and you should have a fish on. Sometimes the fish will hit the hook and then let go very fast so the bobber goes down then up, don't pull up when this happens as you wont catch anything.

To catch a fish let the line sit in the water near where the cat runs around. Just let the line sit around some fish and you will see the hook get tugged on and usually get pulled inward. As the line gets pulled you pull back on the wiimote and you'll catch it. Once you get it, it's pretty easy. Let me know !
Ok, so for clarification: When I see the lure sinking, I pull back, and a fish should hook? Then I just pull it out of the water?

Just pull back on it and it will eventually come up.

the bobber (the thing above the lure) will sink a little bit on its own. When a fish starts to bite the lure the bobber will sink down in a dramatic fashion. If it comes back up right away then the fish is just playing with you. If it goes down and stays there for a second then pull up fast.
Thanks a lot guys, I finally got it. edited for possible spoilers
I think I'll pick up Excite Truck, it seems to be pretty fun. Is it two player, or four?

I just played 2 player, so I'm not sure if its more, I dont see why not...
If you need help as a dog pm me as I don't want to post possible spoilers in the forums...
If you're looking for a good MP game, you might wanna just rent a few first and see how they are.
I've heard mixed reviews on Red Steel, so you might wanna check that out. Monkey Ball is supposed to be five shades of awesome. Excite Truck looks great, but everybody I talk to who has played says that it's not worth $50.

the new Wario Ware game is coming out on like the 10th or something...that might be good multiplayer if you like mini games....actually wario ware is super mini games, like 15secs long LOL
Wario Ware Smooth Moves: 'cause if a game takes longer than 5 seconds to play, it's not worthwhile.

Far Cry comes out tomorrow and that is an awesome game on pc and xbox so I would recommend that but renting them wouldn't be a bad idea too.
