Ok guys I am looking for a good heat sink for a xp 1600+. I currently have a volcano 5, but my temps via my GA-7dxr are at 70 C. :mad:

Only heatsink I'd run nowadays would be the Alpha PAL8045. Runs great with an 80mm fan, something like a Panaflo H1A would keep that chip nice and cool, and be pretty quiet too.

Millenniem Thermal Glaciator II, it has a great build quality and is exceptionally quiet, the heatsink has a great clip design which makes fitting and removal a dream.. it also comes with a small packet of Artic Silver.. overall a great heatsink and well worth the money imho... A great product

i second the glaciator 2 .. its a great price and the big plus is the fan is damn quiet.

If you want the best get the MCX462, just make sure your mobo will support it.

the big swifty is an awesome heatsink when mated to a delta fan but after 2 months of hearing a jet engine 1 foot away from me, i ripped it out and put in a glaciator 2.

i don't think you need to spend an exorbiant amount of money just to cool a xp1600 .. alpha and swiftech bare heatsinks are pretty expensive.
