View Full Version : Crossfire- a way to monitor gpu temp for both cards?

Ok, so I just installed my cf master card today. I had been using ATI tray tools with my single x1900xt to monitor FPS and gpu temp in games, as well as gpu temp in the start bar. However, it doesn't display temps for both of my cards, it only seems to display the temp for my master card. I was also using it to control the fan speed for my x1900xt before, I haven't tried messing with the fan speeds yet with my cf setup but I'm assuming that it won't control both of the cards' fans.
Is there a way to get it to display the temps for both of my cards (and/or provide fan control for both cards), or do I need a different program to do this? Thanks!

ATI Tool does it but unfortunately, not at the same time. You can only display/change settings on the card that is currently selected.

Bummer :(
but since both card are being used at the same time, is it safe to assume that both cards are at (approx) the same temp? During games for sure?

they probably have different coolers on. Thats why he wants to monitor them separately.

Exactly- my master card has the default x1900 cooler on it (and man...I have never heard such an obnoxiously loud fan when it is at full.) My slave is an HIS card with the IceQ3 cooler on it. The unforunate thing is that with my motherboard, the slave goes on the top- so with the design of the IceQ3 cooler, it is sucking hot air off the top of my master card, and with only about 1/4 inch clearance.
I'll have to give AtiTool a try again- the last time I tried using it, I don't think it was detecting my x1900xt properly. I couldn't even see fan control options. If I can at least monitor my slave card, I'd be happy. Unfortunately I couldn't find an option to switch what card Ati Tray Tools monitors, as I really like that tool (it monitors my master card.)

Chaos use ATITool to monitor your master card ( if it doesnt detect your slave card) and Riva Tuner for your slave card or vice versa. That is how I monitor both my cards at the same time.
Select your slave card from the drop down menu in Riva.
