View Full Version : more volts?
My 356 is really weird when it goes past 5.4ghz. As in at 1.55vcore 5.4ghz is like benchable.. but when I try for 5.7ghz with 1.6vcore it just crashs. Most i've ever got to verify is 5.53ghz. Is it ok to give this 1.8vcore? Think it would fry? I'm going to try tommrow night if i know it won't fry. At 1.6vcore my idle is 58.. so its good enough for a verification and thats it.
what do you guys think?
If at 1.6v the idle temp is 58C then I definately would not set it to 1.8v.

58C for idle is quite dangerous. I wouldn't even dare to boot into windows with this temp. But just for screenshot maybe you can try it. I don't think you can fry the chip instantly because there is thermal throttling.
Ok well what I do is go into windows then set the vcore up. so it dosn't have to hit a load temp. i close EVERYTHING except things that need to run.
Well if at 1.6v its 58C then I would imagine around 1.8v it's going to be 60C plus on your idle temps, which is not very good at all. 60C for load is way to much let alone idle. What kind of cooling are you using?
That idle temp is smoking hot. You need to address cooling before attempting anything higher.
Sir, please reduce the O/C and step away from the computer.
