View Full Version : Second Monitor Won't Change Resolution?
I'm trying to "clone" or mirror my monitors and my second monitor won't go into 1280x1024. It's fully capable of 1280x1024 but it is stuck in 1024x768? I just want to mirror or clone my first monitor so I can have the second one facing my bedside to watch movies/browse the web etc. Dunno why it's not working :(
Anyone got an idea? I noticed when the monitor is in 1024x768 it just pans around and video don't work...this is getting annoying :(

People would probably be able to help better with some more details like:
video card(s) that are displaying the signal,
the type and model of monitor
what you've already tried so far.
Well videocard is in the sig...and I don't think monitor type really matters but,
6600GT, both DVI out.
2 CRT's, 21in (Primary), 17in (Secondary)
All I'm simply wanting to do is "clone" or "mirror the Primary monitor to the Secondary monitor. I go through the nView control panel and set it up to "clone" it, but it changes the 17in monitor into 1024x768, but I want it in 1280x1024 (same as 21in). The 17in monitor is MORE than capable of running it, infact, it can do 1600x1200. But for some strange reason, it just won't go anything BUT 1024x768...

I'm not sure but the only guess I have is that there's some type of output limit on the card. Are you certain it can handle 2 displays at 1280x1024? Otherwise someone else will have to help I haven't done dual monitors very much.

You dont have to use nView.
Just use Display properties. Right Click on Desktop> Properties> Settings. Click on desired monitor and select resolution.
what is the model and maker of that 17" monitor??
