help: "function driver missing" // trying to connect a external HD enclosure (W2k)

so i bought this Rosewill external enclosure and put in a 120gb WD IDE hard drive into it. windows recognized it but gave me this code 28 error saying "could not install... function driver was not specified for this device instance."

i'm running Win 2000 SP4 and i've googled this and it seems people have this problem with a variety of devices.

but i hooked it up to my older computer that also runs W2k SP4 and it Worked!

right now i'm formatting the ext drive as it is hooked up via usb to the old pc, and then i'm going to try again. edit: yeah didn't work :(

any ideas? i'll end up reformatting my new pc if not
