Hello everyone, a couple of months ago i decided i needed an upgrade from my little 2.4ghz p4. i started buying components one at at time, up until yesterday when i got my final piece, an e6600. Here is my setup:

Asus P5W-DH Deluxe
E6600 Week30B (default vCore: 1.262)
Tuniq Tower 120 (which replaced my original arctic freezer pro 7)
Corsair XMS2 PC-6400 (5-5-5-5-12)
2 x1600 Sapphire (cheap crossfire.. i know)
550w Antec PSU (i didn't know how important a good psu was until a week or two after i bought this one... sorry  )
80 gig SATA
160 gig SATA (for some data)
cd burner and external dvd burner that i had

(future upgrades will be PSU and another 500+ gigs of storage using all the RAID controllers this board has and a better crossfire config)

I knew i wanted to OC this thing but i had never OC'd anything before, but i knew at least what it ment. i searched far and wide and found the most useful info here.

I have only begun to start testing the processor (as it was late last night and i do have to get up at 6am for work) as of last night i set the vCore to 1.3, and vDimm to 1.9 (as specified by corsair) and i've got it up to 356x9 (3.2ghz) and the ram is respectively at 356mhz (underclocked to keep 1:1).

TaT shoes temps at: IDLE-> 29~31
80% load-> 39~41

i have run no stability tests as i really only messed around for a little bit last night, in the next coming days i hope to have some concrete results with screenshots. My goal is 400x9 (3.6ghz).

So, a HUGE thanks to everyone here, i never asked for any help but i read A LOT of threads that helped me immensely. If i have any problems i'm sure you'll be hearin from me:beer:

and on come the questions... so my goal is 3.6, last night i bumped up my voltage to 1.34 (or close to it) booted into windows and ran a super pi, it was REALLY fast. started orthos and TAT, tat read between 64 and 66, orthos failed at about the 3 minute mark. bumped up the voltage to 1.38 this time ran asus probe, tat and orthos. asus probe showed the vCore to be 1.34/1.35 under orthos load and tat same temps, orthos failed at about 5 minutes. do i keep uping the vCore? 3.6 is my goal but by no means is it 100% neccessary, any suggestions? O, and coreTemp shows my vCore (i guess default) of 1.262.

(as a side note- i found that my two intake fans no longer/never worked so i ordered all new case fans last night with higher CFM ratings)

the new case fans will help for sure.

from what i've seen, setting 1.45-1.55v in bios is what's needed for those types of clocks. if your temps are getting up around 66c in TAT, you need to get them in check. but that should be solved with the fans. ;)

yeah i have a feeling the temps will drop with the fans, when they come in (hopefully monday->newegg) i'll start uppin the frequency again. thanks hUMANbEATbOX. i didn't think i'd be able to boot into windows at 400x9 at the settings i had, but that shows how little i know

That should be a very fun setup for you, and its very similar to my setup (although I am on water-cooling). Hopefully the fans will help drop your temp and will get you stable at 3.6
