Just like the title says. My wireless connection is 12,000down/360up, but my neighbor who is a buddy of mine has 8000down/720 up. I asked him and he said it'd be fine with him if I used his connection after midnight when he's sleeping. Which would result in better BF2 performance, or would the difference be totally negligable?

Speed isn't the issue with gaming it's latency, particularly when sending/recieving alot of info (such as intense combat situations) with the game server. Run a few simple "speed" tests comparing the two connections and you will have the answer. Really the best way is to just game on each of them, that will make it even clearer.
usually anything under 100ms is fine i prefer atleast 30ms :) at most 50ms haha

Yep, that's what I usually try to look for
I usually try to find a Chicago server....I get like 15ms on those.
The faster connection doesn't always mean lower latency....but it does often help. I upgraded from 3mb/512 to 6mb/608 and dropped like 20ms across the board for pings
I'd bet that the double upload speed does help with lower latency.
BTW.....Speedtest.net is a great site to check your up and down speed (It also does latency check)

I'd say go with the higher upload. Anything over 5megs down really won't show a difference in latency. In my case I went from 5mb x 768kb to 6mb x 1.5mb and I noticed a pretty significant drop in latency. Now that everyone has left my node, due to a hostile ISP takeover, I'm getting well into my overhead at 8mb x 2.5mb. Although I haven't really noticed much of a difference. That would seem to suggest neither up or down increases matter much after a certain point.

higher upload will benefit you if you are going to be hosting games.

Well i just tested my latency with the link posted above, speedtest.net. Discovered that my connection has generally lower pings but a few tests showed my neighbors connection having lower pings, I assume that was just random fluctuation though because we are both on the same ISP. Chicago servers had 60ish pings for me, new york had 40ish, which is interesting because I'm much closer to chicago.

Yeah, like I said, in game servers I get as low as 15 on pings and usually like a 30 average (depending on the server, of course) But that Speedtest.net shows my pings anywhere from 60-140ms. So it's definitely not an accurate judge of pings you'll get on game servers....but it can probably help to compare your's and your neighbor's connections.
I guess really your best bet is to just load up BF2 and connect to a server close to you or with a good ping. And then find an average for that one. Then connect to your neighbors network and try again and see which is better.
