Hello. I have 2 BFG 512MB GeForce 7950GTs that I've overclocked to 600MHz core (not very good; 50MHz less than a 7900 GTX) but I've got the memory to 1600MHz (same as a 7900 GTX). If I flashed both of my 7950GTs with a 7900 GTX BIOS will it work at a 650MHz core or no? Thank you.

Same GPU, but I'd be afraid to try it, you could very well end up with a $250 paperweight.
Is the ONLY difference between the 7900's and the 7950 the extra 256mb's of RAM?

the 7950GTs have 512mb of DDR3 RAM as well... clock speed is the man difference.

The 7950GT is basically a 7900gt with more voltage to the GPU and 512MB of memory... it has a different PCB compared to the GTX... So I'm sure it's not compatible.

I wouldn't try it. You can mod your own BIOS and flash your card with it instead. Its safer that way.

this is why i keep a PCI back up gfx card incase i ever become stupid and decide to flash a todally different bios to a good card
dont do it... if you REALLY want to flash the bios use your own... use nibitor, save an original and then edit the bios and boot up in the right way and flash.
