I own the AW8, just the plain jain version of Abit's 955x board..
I have a P4D 930 chip which I can't seem to push past the 3.6ghz mark.. I've got 3gb of RAM in dual-channel, all are PC6400 w/ 4-4-4-12 timings.
Even if I use the highest RAM divider (so that RAM is not a bottleneck), I can't get it stable at 240fsb or past. The highest stable overclock is somewhere around 236fsb. I've tried changing CPU vcore a tad higher to 1.3125, possibly the next highest (can't remember) to no avail.
Where do you think my problem lies? Could it be the motherboard not wanting to go higher, or possibly Vcore? I'm apprehensive to turn the vcore up higher than it is as I'm only using the stock Intel HSF. What is a safe voltage to run these CPU's at?
What suggestions are there for getting a higher overclock? Any idea what is keeping me at ~3.6ghz? Any ideas would be appreciated!
