I suppose it was bound to happen sooner or later. With Pirates being refurbished last year, Railroad Tycoon was bound to receive the same makeover.

But, as opposed to Pirates, I simply cannot fathom that I've spent 40 bucks on Sid Meier's Railroads.

While its beautiful, easy to start with, the game is simply for kids. It has no depth or long lasting appeal at all. Most scenarios hardly keep you challenged for more than the first 5-10 minutes, and then you spend the rest of the time watching dollars roll in......

This game is such a waste of money, it makes me wish Electronic Arts would reconsider translating A-train 7 from Japenese to English, so we could finally have a proper railroad management game... its been so long since transport giant, and even that game didn't take up the original inheritance from railroad tycoon 2. (no, RC3 wasn't a success..)

Please Sid, don't do this to us... give us a real railroad game! Or EA, give us A-train 7.

While I agree this game is a waste of money..to apoint
If you play for more then the first couple of "lessons" then you will see how hard it is.. I only was able to "President" one level. Maybe you are just good at new games? unlike me.. .but it was tyough after I finished the first couple of levels...

Although I do agree that once you have a good strategy, and decent start point, the game is quite easy - but, if you are using the maximum amount of AI players, the "hard" routing, and the extended version of the game (going to at least 1970), I don't think it's that easy. To totally buy out your opponents takes quite a bit of dough.
Pirates! is good too, though... and a bit more difficult.
