Laing D5 pump
HW Labs Black Ice Pro II radiator w dual 120's
10' of MasterKleer tubing
10 Stainless Steel clamps
Swiftech Hi-Flo Reservoir
Danger Den TDX - 1/2" block
Swiftech HydrX Extreme HD coolant

Got the whole works for under $210 shipped. Less than the money I'm getting back for the RMA on the gSkill memory I sent back to the Egg.

Had to go back and order 2 120mmx38mm Panaflo medium speed fans since I forgot those..

Also ordered some of that Swiftech sleeving that goes on the outside of the tubing to keep it from kinking or collapsing.

I'm hoping that this will get rid of the cooling issues with my Opty 170 without resorting to removing the IHS.

I have been using one of the Evercool kits that fit in a 5.25 drive bay, mainly because I had never seen this site and didn't know any better before I bought it.:(

Quite the good loop. I'd personally save a few bucks and ditch the coolant and use plain distilled water + an algaecide, but I assume you've already ordered the kit. The fans you're getting are great, I used a pair of 'em on my B'Ville HC before I switched to Sanyo (which I got quite the deal on).

If it doesn't remove any cooling issues, try lapping the Opty's IHS before you remove it.

take ur time with putting it together, I remember mine took about 4 hours. Oh yeah and don't do it on the floor, I absolutely killed my legs for a week because I was dumb enough to do that.

That WC-202 is what I have now, but I just have the 1 80mm external radiator. At 2.85 gHz I have seen it hit upwards of 55c running Orthos. Had to do something about that. The extra radiator would have to help.

Finally got all my new WC stuff...can't get it in the case in a way that doesn't make me wanna choke myself out, so I ordered another case, as well as a DD Maze 5, so my GPU doesn't feel left out

That D5 pump is a monster! I even went so far as to order all the little stuff to make my install nice and clean, as well as 2 UV tubes so everything is all nice and glowing.

This is the case I got, I plan on installing the radiator in the top.

Also picked this up, seems like it should do the trick.

Should have it all together by next weekend. Pics forthcoming.

Wow, Thermaltake must have sold off all their old Xaser II's. That's the same, exact case clear down to the removable HDD & floppy cages and the plastic holder for the front panel LEDs! OK, they moved the USB ports and yours has a window. You'll like it - I still use the Xaser II for my wife's machine but it's got a top mounted heater core now ... ;)

I had a good ole non window steel xaser II...probaly the best case I've ever owned. Shipping was a ***** though...steel does not ship well lol

i could be mistaken but im pretty sure chenming built those cases for tt,koolance and antec back in the day.they just rebadged and modified the face plates.ive still got mine 2 :) one of the best ive ever owned.

Progress report:

Changed my mind, it was a little tight up by the PSU, so I removed the 2 removable HD bays, drilled the rivets out of the bottom supports for them, and modded one of them to hold my one SATA drive(If I ever go for more, I'll figure it out then). That made JUST enough space so I can fit the radiator in the front of the case. A couple passes with the 4-1/2" hole-saw, some die grinder work, and the fans look great!

I am taking some pics as I go, and should have everything finished up by right after Christmas(busy family time, you know how it goes). I plan on running the loop res->pump->rad->CPU->GPU->res.

I have a little more surgery to do to the case, so I can hide all the wires, as the motherboard tray extends all the way to the front of the case. Some strategically placed slots, and some of that black rubber edging should do nicely to hide most of the wiring behind the tray. Thats the plan anyways.

Still waiting for USPS to bring my order from Petra's so I can finish.

Was planning on something like this for the loop. It is a fluid plan tho, once I get all the rest of the stuff laid out in the case, something better may strike me, or one of you experts might help me out!

You did a very good job cutting up that case. Just make sure you have the pump pushing water through the rad and sucking water in from the res, the other way around isn't good.

What you have looks good. You will probably want to tilt your case onto its front when bleeding to get your air bubbles into the res the way you have it situated. If you want it easier to bleed, you could just find a way to get the res at the highest point. Not absolutely necessary, but since air rises naturally having it at the highest point is optimal. Otherwise, everything looks fine and your front cutting job looks clean. Keep the pics coming.

All done.

To me, it turned out just about as I planned, even though I had to "adjust" some things along the way.

I need to give it a day to adjust to the new ambient, since it's been outside in my shop, where it's cold. But idle temps of ~25 and load temps of ~33 make me grin:bday:

Here's a couple pics of the finished product.

Now to test functionality, and hopefully find a stable 2.9+ OC.
