Hi everyone,

Okay here is my problem, I have a Tornado 92mm I wanna hook to my Aerogate 2.

The Tornado uses a standard 4pin and the Aerogate 2 only supports 3pins.
I thought it would be an easy fix and wired myself a 4pin to 3pin adapter with wires I had but it wont work when I plug it in the Aerogate.

I know the Aerogate can support the voltage the Tornado needs (12v 1A).

So I came to the conclusion it had something to do with the seperate yellow wire but I am not 100% sure. Anyone know what's wrong with my setup?

The Aerogate allows for 12volt 1 amp fans, the Vantec Tornado 92mm draws slightly more than 1 amp.

If don't mind not using the top 10% of the fan speed, then you can put a 1.2 ohm 5 watt resistor (http://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&productId=660156) in series with the fan. (cut a wire and one end goes to one side of the resistor, and the other end goes to the other side of the resistor)

separate yellow wire is for fan RPM, I.E you dont need it for the fan to run.

Got any pics of your custom adapter?
