well i just got my new power supply in and i threw in my two 7900 gt ko supperclocked cards and enabled sli but im not getting a good performance boost??

like in 3d mark 06 i go from 5447 from a single card to 8139 in sli

but when i play games like counter strike source or call of duty 2 i get the less frames per second in sli than i do in sli??? and it dose not play as smooth as it dose as just using one card??

i called evga and he told me to test each card by it self and i did and got only a 5 point difference in 3d mark 06?? he said it may one of the card but they both perform the same.

in css i get 120 fps average in the stress test with both cards and get the same with just one card??

before i sli'd my computer i had my single card overclocked and get 135 average in css.

why is this doing this. its really ****ing me off. I tried many difference drivers but the driver that seems to work the best is the newest beta driver

Cod II works well in sli. I get killer fps with it. Disable your vsync. for some reason I've noticed a reduction in lowest frame rates when it is enabled. Double check you have the SLI enabled. Confirmation is determined by seeing the second GPU temp or enabling the SLI level indicator should show the bars in 3d mark 06 I belive. If not these it's probably a setting in your bios. I'm not sure if it makes a difference but check SLI aperature and switch it to enabled/disabled. After gaming intensly immediate alt+tab out and see if both gpu 1 and gpu 2 are at similar temps. If one is significantly below the other on a game that utilized sli then one card is not putting is effort in.

yeah one of the cards runs cooler than the other but they both rise. i tested both cards by them self in in both pci slots and give out the same performance in 3d marks 06 i tried these old bios 91.47 and they work ALOT better than all the newer ones that are out.

idk y but the new bios suck

i now get 140 in sli before with the newer bios i got 119 while useing sli. while useing the css stress test but still get the same 3d mark score

whats is SLI aperature?

All of these are done as my maximum tests. 3 tests out of maybe 30+ tries, these are best 3

I don't have 3d mark installed now but here's an old pic:

I don't have any of those steam games to test.

i still think i should get more than 12501 in 05 and more than 8139 in 06

i think my mcp on my mobo is messed up

Definately the vmods increase my score by at least 700 on 3dmark 06. I think I was getting 14700 in 3dmark 05. My first run with sli netted about 9000. I gradually tweak the system over 3 days and maxed out at 10450. I think vmods are responsible for about 15% higher frame rates accross the board. When I thought I hit my limit of 10k It actually became higher once my system got into a new case and had way better airflow and with some more knowledgable tweaking of the limits I gained the additional 450 pts. I'm about to bump the vmod to 1.55 and do the memory mod. But you have to understand I've got 2 really good overclocking cards on both cores and memory. I have no problem running 737/900. If I run 737/920 some games will simply lock up. But then other games can run fine at 737/940.

I'm sure your system could be pushed harder if you know your cpu can run at least 2800. There's a lot of confusing things about using ram dividers and such when overclocking. You really have to find out the absolute limits of your ram speed + timings, write them down. your cpu limit, what dividers work well with the ram at the ram limits. Some dividers can just cause my system to crash even though it's within the ram specs. An unknown issue like this could be holding you back. You basically have to know your parts in and out and go through process of elimination. I've also got my pci-e bus set to 118 mhz. But honestly I've noticed no difference between 100 and 118 mhz.
