how can I make an avatar?

Does anybody have any downloadable software for making avatars or know where I can get it to try it out? Or do I need to pay for the software?

You can use Win's Paint prog, then use a program named "Slowview" to convert it into .gif or .jpg format, of the right size--both in pixel-by-pixel dimensions-- and kb count.

There's a much better way, I'm sure! Slowview is Freeware, btw.

If you want to make a .gif (moving picture like mine), you need a gif animator like Ulead Gif animator. or as klosters said, all you need is a jpg or gif that is within the size limit to use as an avatar.
