Randomly sometimes i load up the game and it RUNS GREAT with high FPS. and then most of the time the game runs AWFUL! (iam thinking its a driver issue with graphics card or something)
i have the most up-todate drivers for my Video card and Chipset from Nvidia.
Iam using:
1. Nforce Ultra 400 Chipset
2. with a Athlon 2800 Barton processor PRIME STABLED at 2.4Ghz so its running 3550 ish performance according to Sandra benchmarking. or almost FX-53 performance rather.
3. gig of ram. 2-2-2-11 timings its PC-2700 but theres massive volts. and its been prime stabled.
and the Video Card is Nvidia 7800 GS OC. so its stock at 400/1250 (capible of being OCed much higher but it doesn't make to much of a difference.. only a few FPS difference and the game is unplayable still.... so i uninstalled it and reinstalled with a fresh driver from Nvidia)
Its so weird.. i was giving faith in COD2 untill i turned it on today just for some laughs to see how bad it the FPS is... (usualy under 10's) but today it was cranking HUGE stages at 30+ FPS (for me i never seen COD2 on my rig doing so well)... and the game was complelely smooth with Optimal video settings (which is set almost at max as default, but even when i turn down the details.. it still runs crappy...) I basicaly played for about.... 4 hours.. i was so happy and thought that it was normal again.... And then after exited the game to grab something to eat and returned... the game was back to its normal self with under 10 FPS usualy.. and the game was back to being unplayable....
I hope someone can fix this for me... its ONLY this game that is causing me problems. i play Source at full graphics all the time and the FPS is great.... but this thing is really giving me trubbles.. at first i thought it was just my hardware was too slow.. but on occasion the Graphics will be back to normal and the FPS would be REALLY great for the time i leave the game opened with out exiting it. so... it looks like my rig is fully capible of handling it.. iam hoping its just a driver problem.. but i completely uninstall the drivers and reinstalled it several times.. and still no go....
