Saw it in the classifieds and seemed like a good deal. Please lets not get into this is a bad deal or a bad purchase. I got them coming and I would like to make the best of them.
So I got an x-fi extrememusic a couple weeks ago, and on their site, they offer these cables. http://www.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=13&subcategory=55&product=14309
Now correct me if I am wrong, but what these cables look like they do is allow your PC(sound card) to do all the sound processing and you just use your receiver as an amp. The receiver its self does no actual sound processing, just makes it louder by amplification.
Now looking back at the speaker set up, the sub is self powered. So that alone will not need to be amp'd. Now looking at the other 5 speakers, would there be a way to hook them up directly to my PC? Or do they need to be ampd? If there was a way to hook them up to my PC, would they be loud enough? I really don't need loud speakers. They will more than likely be no more than 2 feet away from me.
Is this possible at all?
