well, i built a sytem consisting of a P4 1.7 @ 1955mhz
Abit TH7RAid
2 sticks of Samsung PC800 FSB@115
SCSI HDD
GeForce 3 @ 220/510
.........

anyways i ran this setup with all OEM cooling on 3dmarks 2001

and i scored about 7460

then i added a Koolance watercooling system.

i have a waterblock on CPU,GPU,Northbridge, and HDD

I ran the 3dmarks2001 again and the nature test was extremely choppy and slow

i get to the end and my score is like 5100

that sucks, i hit 6600 with my DELL 1.4 not overclocked

well, the system seems to be running alot cooler

CPU went from about 50C full load to now being no higher than 33C full load, and thats only if the room is running hot

the only thing i notice is that my video card seems to be running alot hotter than when the OEM FAN was on it

now with the water cooler on it, the back of the card and the heatsinks get hotter than ever before

so, i'm wondering if thats normal, i don't think it is

i hope i didn't burn up something in my Video Card

do you think my problem is the result of heat?

usually when there is a heat problem it freezes or kicks you out

by the way, test was run after a BIOS flash and drivers used were 22.40's instead of 21.81's used in the first test

please help if you can, im really dissapointed with everything right now

thanks

Sounds like your gpu's water block is not sitting correctly. You should be getting lower temps with water cooling.

Are you also cooling the memory somehow? With the fan, you were getting some airflow over the memory's heatsinks, but now you're not, so you may want to water cool the memory on the graphics card too.

what about putting bigger heatsinks on the memory and have a

pci slot fan blowing on it.

eventually, i plan on cutting a hole in my case panel and putting a 80mm fan directly blowing on the card

i think you are right, the GPU is being cooled, but not the heatsinks

i thing the GPU is cooling good though, because block is cool too the touch and on the back of the card, the area that would heat up for the GPU is not hot

only the heatsinks and the back of the card where the heatsinks woud heat it up are hot

i hope this is the answer, it sounds like it will be

i really don't think that anything is burned up ...... yet lol

life of a overclocker

U'm,

Hows your watercooling set-up? Is the Water going to the CPU first, then the N-Bridge, Then HDD then G-card? If so then the G-Card will be getting all the hot water.

To stop this use a T-Junction so all the components get fresh water, you'll need a lot more tubing but its really worth it.
