I just turn off the power supply then turn it back on, it reboots just fine I've got it to 1.83 before but I want more cooling before trying for more. At which point I start having problems with the power managment schemes, they don't work, also still WinXP won't shut itself down yet it saves my settings and turns off the mouse and keyboard. I can unclock and everythings OK but thats no fun. Does'nt start to happen untill I get over about 110 fsb speed.

I've been hearing that Xp dosen't work well on O/C'ed systems. You'll probably just have to lower the fsb. Or go to Win2k.

That sucks considering what I just shelled out for XP. However 98SE was always crashing XP does'nt. Why do you say win2k? Could this have something to do with XP's piracy program if so what do I do call them and tell them I changed cpu's, reactivate please!

XP RULES
can you up the vcore on your P4 you have problems above 15x110 so this might help. you could see if you can hack the registry to quickly shutdown without saving all the temp files or something like that. I wish you could unlock those guys cuz a higher fsb would be sweet. also try one stick of ram if you aren't already.

Yes I can and have from 1.65 to 1.75 look out here comes 1.85! After better cooling looking for an AVC sunflower. I hear they're good and resonably quiet. Also I am just using one stick of pc150 256mb tomorrow fedex drops off a stick of pc150 512mb maybe I should just swap them instead of using both. However is this going to help shut down winxp we shall see. Also I saw that thing about the quik shutdown somewhere before but can't remember where, oh well guess I'll have another beer and search the web. Thanks
