Okay, Bit torrent is taking up 300+ MBs of ram!.. Anyone know a better program to use, or perhaps even a fix for this?.. I do not understand HOW downloading files takes up so much ram...

i swear by azureus if you want to try another one out

Ditto. It runs happily all the time on my home server and I'm sure it doesn't swallow too much RAM.

I've had Azureus take up to 150MB of RAM before, that seemed to be the limit. Doesn't really bother me, though, as the performance is great and I have 2GB of RAM anyway :p

I use uTorrent on my other machines though, as they got the hardware shaft when I got my new rig, lol.

Just checked on it.

Seems to use 8% of CPU and 190MB of RAM. Not too bad, as it's seeding ~40 torrents.
