lol, buy an SLI rig to enter this contest:
We have detected that you do not have an SLI-enabled desktop PC. If you have an SLI-Ready desktop PC (a desktop PC containing an SLI-Ready motherboard and one SLI-Ready graphics card) please download and install the following new GeForce graphics driver and re-run this system analyzer (by revisiting this web page after the driver is installed and your PC has restarted) so that we can verify your hardware and enter you in the promotion: ForceWare Version 97.44 (if you have a GeForce 8800 Series graphics card) or ForceWare Version 93.81 (for all other SLI-Ready graphics cards).
If you do not have an SLI-Ready desktop PC, simply visit the NVIDIA SLI Marketplace and we will help equip you with the hottest SLI-Ready gaming hardware so that you can enter this promotion.
Nice how nVidia collects all of your system information and a snapshot of your active memory to enter you.
They're making money off this scheme by selling statistics.

Just to let you know.

Here's how to enter:
Install the ActiveX/Java browser component by clicking the button below
Complete the entry form
Check back here every day to see if your name is drawn! (starting December 22nd)!
You can enter only once into this contest - if your name is drawn and you are found to be entered multiple times, your entry will be deleted and you won't win.

What's the catch?
Nothing…except that if you win and don't check back in time to claim your prize, you lose it. Oh, and you don't know what SLI-Ready prize you win until we announce it the week of the drawing – it could be an SLI-Ready power supply, SLI-Ready memory, an SLI-Ready graphics card, or an SLI-Ready motherboard…the only way to find out is to come back and see if you won –and WHAT you won!

hmmm so do you have only have one days time to claim your prize with no email notification if you win? Forget checking back every day or even every week for that matter. I forsee that they will have a lot of unclaimed prizes.

Every time I try to enter mine it tells me to bug off.

Could be that I still have to do the motherboard mod on this board...=/

Didn't work for me, not an SLI user. Oh well. And all of you that are getting upset about checking everyday, it says you have 7 days to claim your prize, so in reality it would be a little over 60 (checking every 6 days just in case).

So I have to DL Beta Drivers to enter???

Neuromancer
01-19-07, 01:22 PM
You can enter without and SLI rig, you have to mail in your enter though. I have to do that, because even though I have an SLI motherboard and an nVidia GFX card, I only have one installed, so it wont pass the test (SLI option does not even come up in the new Beta drivers, wish I still had my x1300 in so I could at least fake it.

The contest didn't require that I was running SLI, just that I had the ability to upgrade to it.

that is awesome...it has to be a current Nvidia card though? I've got an ATI in there right now...but I guess to register I could throw in my 7600 GT again...it might be worth it to win a $500+ card :D

Anyone can enter this contest, because if they didn't allow everyone eligible, (in the USA, where State law allows you to enter) then this contest would be illegal.

But Nvidia is not breaking any laws since they allow mail in entries (Which is a bit absurd since snail mail takes time to send, and they may miss the deadline if they win and don't check to see if they won in the 7 day timeframe) Nvidia really should notify the winners via email or phone since they collected this info in the snail mail entries)

That person's name started with "L" and now they're on "M"... if all the Nathans and Nancies start winning next, then I'd say, if not rigged, it's definately rigid.

Question:

Why is this thread listed as a dead contest? You can still sign up for it and it has about 7 months left to run.

i think the mod just looked at the start date of the thread. as the contest states all year for 2007.
