hello people...
I had win2k in my PC some time ago....I had three partitions: first and second were on NTFS, third on FAT32....then i decided to install win98 for some REASONS...so, i simply used my win98 bootdisk and ran the fdisk...i deleted everything i could!!
i noticed that i could not delete the NTFS partition...
i was kinda confused there, but i was assuming i can fix everything from windows....
i'll get to the point...i managaed to make a 5 GB partition and left the other 25 GB for later...i installed win98...but i couldn't get the other 25 gb...so, i installed win2k again!! long story ei?!
amm...i still can't see the other partition!! which i suppose it's free disk space by now!!
how can i get it back?? i have partition magic 5, but it needs DOS...and for some reasons it didn't work in win98 either....
amm...any tips on how to recover that free disk space?? WITHOUT formatting again!!
something like partition magic?
what is the latest version anyway?

This shouldn't be too hard.

1. Boot with the 98 boot disc.
2. type fdisk
3. say no to the large disk question
4. Choose the delete partition option
5. Choose the non-dos partition option
6. Your NTFS partition should now be on the screen.
7. Delete it.
8. You can use partition magic to create a new partition from the new free space.

Yeah...because if you select large disk support it will set up the drive for FAT32.

NTFS partitions are invisible From a FAT32 partition.

Do a search on the internet and look for a program called delpart.exe. Place it on your boot floppy and run it to delete the NT partitions which defy Fdisk.exe. Then reboot and use fdisk to create your Windows partitions. Delpart comes from the old NT 3.51 CD and is a very useful file when you need it.

try this link: http://www.rustysmith.com/delpart.htm
