View Full Version : Best Athlon XP steppings (codes)
What is the Best Athlon XP' s stepping?
Some say it's something Y...
Some say it's something K...
Is there anyother ones that are goodly proven?
Me too is looking for this info. There is a very nice table for tbirds and durons on http://www.athlonoc.com/stepping2.php but......
Does neone know if such a list exists for the Xp's anywhere yet? My new (but not POSTing yet) XP is an AGNGA-Y if neone has some experience of this stepping.
Peace
I'm on a AMD Athlon XP 1800+ AGKGA "Y" ... it's great. 1.53GHz originally.. now at 1.72GHz stable on air alone. 38c while folding. 1 intake - 1 exhaust (2 if you could the PSU) and a CoolerMaster HHC-001 Heat Pipe w/ASII :)

Although this shot is from the older Spitfire / T-BIRD, it is very similar for the, Morgan / XP
I hope this helps.
Good Luck!
By the way, I've got an XP1600+ that will do 207MHz FSB and run at 1650MHz all day on my 8KHA+, I'm working on the memory settings as I type this.

What a Sweetie!
I just picked up an XP1600 AGNGA "Y" at the computer show today as a backup for my XP1800 AGKGA "Y" and I have to say I am impressed with this chip.
I'll have to wait until Tuesday, when I can take it to work and unlock it under the microscope, but at the stock multiplier (10.5), it runs at a 155 FSB on my KK266+ beautifully. It may run a faster FSB, but my system components limit me to a maximum of 155 Mhz. Here's the best part. It runs 10.5x155 at 1.625Vcore!
That's only 63W of heat for a 16% overclock! The best overclock I can get out of my 1800 is 11% and that takes 83W. I'll post more details Tuesday night, but from my initial experience, this processor gets a Hoots Choice award in the Bang-for-Buck category.
Here's a screen shot of the particulars:
hope u guys have as much luck with that stepping as i am haveing :)
