Burn In

any opinions on the best burn in util to get and a wee bit info about using it ie how long to run tests etc TIA guys:burn:

I like prime95 my self... if your rig is unstable it will usually feel with in the first half hour ..I would run it over night to really test it though....I'm not a big fan of the burn in thing but after its stable you can burn in over night for a couple of weeks..

if u can run a full 100 frames in folding @home and watch the report(if it has no errors)it is rock stable.this is by far the best stability benchmark i have found.i can run prime 95 24/7 and get no errors but f@h will error out quickly if any instabilities exsist.

i aquired the program "toast" and call me stupid but is the prog just that firey image dude whats it doing r there no "proper settings"
im gonna look into this F@H as im an ignorant xx as i only got a rough idea what it is (shame)never mind how you go about doing it so im off to educate myself,, thanx guys:burn:

righty oh i have just d/loaded and am running the laset version and the screensaver and now got my wee red cog thing in my systray so how do i stress my or tel if things are stable?

I would recommend running

3dmark 2001 and CpUBURN
at the same time.. if you get no crashes in 12-16 hours means its stable and keep on burning.
But mainly CPUBURn does the job.

i have the console version,so im not sure its the exact same thing but when it get 100 frames completed it will send results to stanford and it will say 100 frames expected 100 frames completeed 100%(or somthing like that.

my cpu runs between 99 ana 100% when running f@h,is that enough stress?

some versions send work everytime it is shutdown and restarted,if yours does you can see if any errors are there.this prog. has a way of finding instability.you can run 3d mark 2001 as well(but not at the same time)and see if it vcompletes.if so your stable

i get a PASSED in 3d benchmark-195.7 in passmark-my folding at home says under WU progress 5/100
