Not sure these are good deals considering they are NFR.. But hopefully they are . Good day/ Afternoon/ Night to all.. :santa2: :santa:
I wouldn't go for it. I just had my system get the 'not a legitmate copy of windows' message recently, and went back and found it was a NFR/VLK copy. Had to buy another copy of XP Pro from Newegg as a result. Worst part was, I didn't realize that was what I was buying, and the price was only a few bucks cheaper than Newegg.
Microsoft is starting to include a lot more 'marginal' licenses as unacceptable to them in WGA.
I have personally installed versions of XP from surpluscomputers on client's computers. I have had no problems with WGA when using them.

wasn't this posted some time ago and removed?
NFR= not for resale. It's not illegel but it's walking a fine line

Same here, software counterfeiting is becoming way too common these days. I would only buy from a certified Microsoft vendor.
I don't know about the XP 64bit version, but the XP Pro and Office Pro packages I got from them are NOT NFR. They are barebones licenses that had been destined for white box (independent PC) builders.

Hmmmmmmmmm
i dont know if it's just me, but i would not recomend x64 to anyone. my apps are acting weird, my games run slower.. Photoshop has those HUGE delays when you swich tools... bleh... stick with the regular xp!
nice find btw.

I have zero problems with my XP 64bit running on my socket 754 Sempron 3100. BF2 plays great. No slow downs, hell, it seems faster than normal XP in all areas, have you updated all your drivers for the 64bit?

Ditto . No problems here with x64 for over a year now . A few drivers are still lacking , but for the most part , driver support has improved 1000% (- Netgear  ).
x64 is a very stable os imo and at $40 its definitly worth it .

agree. but in my experiance i think xp64 helps a HELLA lot. and i mean a LOT.
i don't know if its the drivers, i don't know if its my computer, i don't know if its dx9.0c
but all i know, using the SAME version of the driver (except x64 vs x32) the SAME game (except on x64 partition and x32 partition)
x64 fps = 70-120 EASY
x32 fps = less than 60 fps most of the time.
theres something wrong there because theres supposed to be almost no difference to being worse, but i just noticed a 40 fps boost in most areas of cs:s, so im in!

It's all about the 64bit processing. :)
