hey guys, I am just learning but I am stumped and was hoping someone could help me out.
Specs:
Pent D 805 2.66Ghz
gigabyte mobo (GA-8n-SLI),
stock HSF
Allied PSU 450W
7600GTKO
2x512 DDR 4200

I was 24 hours double prime stable at 3.2Ghz, 160 FSB. But I bump it up to 165 FSB and I can't get it stable(boots fine but throws errors in orthos). :(

In the Bios I bumped up the Vcore to 1.325 but MBM and CPUz shows Vcore at 1.26 and down to as low as 1.13 under load...I am guessing this may be the problem???

I imagined that when I hit the ceiling on this CPU it would be for temps, but I am only seeing 58 C at full load 42-43C at idle. I took some screen shots hoping it would help. Any advice on what to try next and on the practical limit of this processor would be appreciated.:)

Great to see a fellow 805'er...
Seems v core very low at the 1.3 ranges...set at 1.55 or higher for 3.6+
I was just playing around with mine agin the other night and could get 3.9 on a hyper 48 air cooler....I run at 3.6 on a daily basis with mine...That stock cooler is probably hurting you also..those temps seem low to me...I do not know if I would trust them.

Also that 805 is a power hungry monster....seems all voltages are quite low...maybe time for a psu upgrade..

Power supply used?

Power supply is 450W Allied...was just a cheapie. This rig was supposed to be pretty vanilla...but I can't resist seeing what it will do.:)

I seem to have it stable again at 3.3Ghz...seems it may have been the RAM not the CPU. I bumped up vdimm .1 and it seems stable so far. I am not sure total vdimm b/c it is not listed in the Bios I am kind of surprised since I am only running 165 FSB with DDR2-533

I dropped the Vcore back to 1.325 in the bios and have been orthos stable for 6 hours now. hopefully I can keep pushing it.

As for the temps I am not sure what to think either...EasyTuner and MBM are consistant...but for stock cooling the temps seem great. maybe too good?
