will the bios recognize a mounted OS ?
or is the mount only recognized in windows environment like only when i boot up to windows?

Using vmware. When you launch your virtual OS, vmware posts a virtual bios from which the virtual os boots. When the virtual bios launches, you can click on DELETE and "enter" the virtual bios. No real point in doing it though.

If you think about it, the virtual OS is launched only from within your running OS. At that point the actual pc POST has already occured.
