OK, im a bit lost here on the MGS story. At the end of MGS2 ottacon says the patriots had been dead for 100 years. But in MGS2 the Philosophers were the paitriots(right?) but they were still alive, right?

Sorry if I sound like a noob, but its kinda confusing.

well yes the patriots were the philosophers, but iirc they were long gone in mgs3, it was just the money they had that was left behind, that that vulgin guy got a hold of and was using it for naughty stuff

Man its been sooooooooooo long since I played MGS2. I got it when it first came out on PS2 and have not played it since, so I forgot the whole story and everything.

I'll need to get back into it before MGS4 comes out on PS3.

wikipedia has a really good recap of each games storyline, i had forgotten a lot about mgs1 and 2 so i read up on it after being wowed by 3 so it all makes sense.

3 is probably the best metal gear game as of yet, hideo kojima truly is a master.

yeah, playing mgs when it 1st came out was a great experience. :) i remember i thought that game had such good graphics :D i was also subscribed to playstation underground so i saw lots of behind the scenes stuff and played the demo like crazy.
