Ive just recently found out about the new Core 2 Duo chips and the prices of them.
E6600 will be down to $224
E6400 will be down to $183
E6420 will be $183 and will have a 4B cache, so why is Intel releasing two slightly different chips at the exact same price or am i missing something.
http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=5414
because i live in the UK i used a currency converter and converted the E6600 price which came out as £114 and the E6400, E6420 pricing at £93
I thinking to myself that cant be right, if it is i wont be complaining one bit but i just want to be sure.

I haven't seen an E660 for that price anywhere. They are usually right around $320US, but occassionally you might see one for high 200's. I think the price you have there for the E6400 is about right though. I am not at all sure about the E6420.
I don't think that link is an actual vendor is it? It looks more like a news article. Anyway check out the vendors like newegg or tigerdirect or zipzoomfly. If you can get the E6600 for $224 then you should get 3 of them:) I think prices will soon come down to what they have listed at that site due to the arrival of the quad cores.

the price for the E6600 is the soon to be price its around $320 NOW but if i have read it correctly when the new Exxx chips come out all the processors will drop in price.

im mainly wondering about these prices because they seem to be very cheap for what they are
Are they exactly the same as the first release Core 2 Duo Chips via E6700, E6600, E6400 and the E6300 or have they changed them slightly.
For instance lowered the multiplier or locked it both up and down.
Or am i way into the furture and no one quite knows yet lol.?

Good question on the multiplier lock. The downward lock is the real question as the upward change is already locked with all Exxxx processors (I've been recently told of the downward ability).
The article linked in the bit-tech article has more information: http://www.hkepc.com/bbs/itnews.php?tid=714230&starttime=0&endtime=0
They are cheap prices because they are 3+ months early. Keep in mind that the launch date for all but the E4300 is Q2 2007. This is April or later. Not uncommon for Intel to lower prices a quarter or more down the road or when new processors are introduced. E4300 is supposed to release Jan 21, which is why you see it on the chart in Q1.
Personally, I'm buying the E4300 in Jan. Lots of people are waiting for these as they have a lower FSB (800) and higher multiplier (9), but are missing a couple minor abilities (VT and something else).

they decided to leave all of the instruction sets in.

Finally I can get a core2duo, does this mean that board prices will also drop.

That price drop still won't be for a bit of time.
If anything with Xmas, prices went UP for the CPU's. I got my E6400 and ECS motherboard from Frys in a package deal. The CPU was retail, it was about $190 for both. This was back about Oct/Nov 2006. Same CPU/Motherboard combo saw last week for $229. Last month it was $219.
The motherboard was an ECS P4M800PRO-M (V2.0) an el cheapo board, but it turned out to be VERY stable and run flawlessly. No overlocking thou....
upgraded to P5W-DH Deluxe and was up to 3.2ghz in short order. :)
