quick question, is 6hrs long for a wu ? on my 930 i have two they are takign that long, the ones before were only 40mins, is this normal ?

Work unit times may vary greatly so this is ok, but you can speed up your crunching by using optimized client.
See this thread on Seti forums -> link (http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=31810) and choose the client that is best for your rig. For 930 You can use P4/D SSE3 optimized client. That would probably give you the best results.
For instalation you just ned to close boinc and extract all the files from the .zip file into your "boincdir\projects\setiathome.berkeley.edu", and then run Boinc again. You will know that its working ok if you can't view the graphics on the WU you are curretly processing ( since this is disabled for faster crunching ).
If you got any questions post them here. Happy crunching. :D

thanks you sir :)

ive got a few WUs that are completed and its saying....

12/29/2006 10:11:10 AM|SETI@home|Scheduler request failed: HTTP internal server error

Does that mean the server is busy or ? anyways Ive got like 10-15 wus that need to be upped :) good thing i have a decent sized cache set :)

PhysX
12-29-06, 10:47 AM
i notice one there for pentium M as well dothan core is listed would that work better on my celeron m 370 dothan core better than the generice version ?

Hamm3r
12-29-06, 11:15 AM
Havent tried it since I only have this Prescott and a couple of AMDs but I think it should be better. All optimized clients were faster than standard version.

Tyrinon
12-29-06, 01:12 PM
Right. Optimized clients for the win!

My 920 o/c'd to 3.64ghz is popping out two wu's every two hours, and my 930 w/o an o/c is putting out two work units ~2h15m to 2h30m. The 930 is still new to my farm, so I haven't paid much attention to the crunch times.

PhysX
12-29-06, 02:03 PM
so i installed the pd sse3 client kwsn, and restarted and its still not runing off of it, did i do something wrong ? iput it in that folder .edu etc.

PhysX
12-29-06, 03:41 PM
also installed the optimized on the Celly M 370 closed the app/put in folder stil lnot running o nthat client yet ? needs to d o the wus it already had or no

I seem to be getting in everyone else's thread, what Optimizer should i user for an xp2200? thank you

Hamm3r

AthlonXP supports MMX, 3dnow! and SSE. It doesn't support SSE2 or SSE3 so you should use SSE optimized one. You can get it here: -> link (http://lunatics.at/index.php?module=Downloads;sa=dlview;id=33)

np, glad it works for ya. Crunch on. :)

PhysX

is there such thing as avg credit per day for cpus ? or does it vary because of the size of the WUS? / their times.

Hamm3r
12-30-06, 10:56 AM
You mean a list of all CPUs and their average credit ? AFAIK it doesn't exist because all those optimized clients are always changing so that list would never be accurate. But we can create one based on our CPUs so we can have an list of estimated credit/day one would get with particular CPU. :)

Average credit varies but not very much. It isn't dependent on WU length because it is calculated by amount of FLOPs the CPU makes during a crunching of a wu.

Actually I think it would be a good idea to make some estimated production list based on our rigs. :)
What do you guys think?

PhysX
12-30-06, 11:31 AM
Sounds good :) I wouldstart one with mine but I wanna wait atleast 7days so i can get get accurate results or i can calculate what the yhave doen in these 2days and add on the rest.

PhysX

kinda off topic, but how are the world teams ranked by rac ? if so we may be taking 11th place with the new people we are getting.

i have a problem from when i switch on the amd system
it cant fetch work, i reset the project and all btu it wont get the work, restarted seti too

Looks like there are problems on their end, thread from the seti forums - link (http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=36796#494393)
I too can't get work on my system @ home. Im crunching Einstein for now then.

AFAIK there is no way to merge accounts.

PhysX under what name are you crunching, I can't find you on the stats? Congrats on the 17k :D

yehai figured that one out, i counted my losses and moved on :) lost 1.5k in credit but thats better than losing 17k

wow look at these benchmarks and few seconsd apart

notice the MIPS, on the second one i noticedthat i had some apps running on the back goind services.. .closed them look at that increases hah yay more speed.

Those scores look ok. But higher benchmarks don't anymore yield more credit as before since Boinc doesn't rely on Benchmark scores to calculate claimed credit anymore. But anyway its good to se big numbers  :D

hey i know TC used to be a big cruncher what happened ?

As with many crunchers he had a cancer experience within the family and decided to move most of his horsepower over to a different distributed computing project called Folding.
