SAS raid array

Hey all

Serial attached SCSI can connect directly to a Sata raid card, with no problems of any kind, I thought. Am I right in believing that, or does SAS need a specifically SAS raid card to work properly?

sorry for the slow responce.. and the bad news

SATA drives can connect to a SAS port on a SAS controller in fact you can connect at least 2 for each port on a SAS controller (this is one of the reasons why a SAS drive doesn't work on a SATA conroller however)

so.. no, SAS drives will not work on a SATA controller.
