This is only for the people who watercool their core 2 duo's really. Just post your type of core 2 duo, voltage, clock, and if you can, ambient temp as well as the week & stepping of your processor. Also, you can use wantever you like to load the cpu. I just want to get a general feel of what water cooling can do for these cpu's. I will be getting some air cooling parts soon and it could possible rival these water cooling setups (while using silent fans). :)

Well I run a e6600 and my water parts get here tonight so Ill post that soon, with a silent square I max at 44~46 and idel at 37~39 @1.38v 320fsb... havent tried any further as of yet, Will in a day or two though :0).

My E6400 idles at around 40-41*C, and is between 47-52*C under load on water. :beer:
I dont mean to brag or increase epenis sizage, you should be getting better temps dude. My hotter e6600 (probably more voltage as well, damn week 28a!) match your load temps & idle temps are better (but who cares about idle anyways)

Lately in this nice cool wether mine has been running at 22c idle and around 38c under load. Love my underground loop.

E6600 @ 3.4Ghz, Idle 37c, Full (2 X Prime) Load 49c

My 24/7 is 3.6Ghz Idle 43c, Full (2 X Prime) Load 55c

To be 3.6Ghz stable took a lot more volts 1.55, 3.4Ghz only needed 1.4 to be stable.

Edit: Sorry enz660, my bad, read this under "Today's post's" and read you first post to fast.
Im on Air in sig, again sorry my bad.

Dean.

wow you have pretty much a twin of my cpu. my e6600 reacts to voltage pretty much the same way as yours. Ill be using your temps especially to compare. What cooling parts do you have in your loop? How much did it all cost?

L632A CPU @ 3.8Ghz, 422 x 9, 1:1

Room Ambient: ~ low 20Cs
CPU Idle Temp: ~ high 30Cs as reported by Core Temp
CPU Prime Load Temp: ~ mid 50Cs
Loaded Vcore: ~ 1.60 as reported by Asus PC Probe II which tracks BIOS power values very closely

Alphacool NexXxos XP CPU Water Block
Watercool HTF 2.0 240mm Radiator with (2) Evercool 120mm 80CFM Fans @ ~ 1650 RPM
Swiftech MCP600 Pump @ 14V

Fans powered off P5B-DX headers in Silent Mode - very quite system and more effective than the Big Typhoon and Tuniq Tower I had.

E6400 (L628A841)
P5B Vanilla
Ambient 30C* (Case 34C*)
Idle: 44/46C*
Load: 57C*
Voltage: 1.46(Actual) 1.53v (BIOS)
Clocks: 452 x 8 = 3.622ghz
Chipset: C1 i965P

Cooling Loop:
BIX2---> MCP655(#5) ---> Apogee ---> BIP2 ---> MCW60 ---> **BIX2

(2X Delta VHE) --> BIX2 (Intake via-case-->exhaust to room)
(1X Delta WPM?) --> BIP2 (Intake-from room-->exhaust to case)

I tried Orthos once on what I consider close to the best air possible. (Tuniq Tower with 105CFM Delta) The difference is about 5C compared to a solid WC loop. (3.85GHz/1.56v/67C loaded) So yes, you can rival it, but liquid will always be a bit colder and quieter.

Gautam, are you saying that you believe the Tuniq to only be 5C worse than GOOD water cooling? I say no way. I just happen to be running at 3.85/1.575V just as you were. My load is 40-44C, a good 20C LOWER than the Tuniq. I'll say this again, it doesnt matter if I run orthos for minutes or hours, the temps remain the same (unless ambient changes of course) and MBM works a treat with the core temp plugin :D
