I have MB: ABIT i815E and CPU: 850 megahertz Intel Pentium III

What do I do.....( first anyway? ) I'm just interested in Bios settings, etc.... no physical jumpers or anything intense yet.

You have to go into your Softmenu 3 in your BIOS and change a few settings. Go slow, in small steps and you should be OK. Also, keep a close eye on your temperatures. I'm not sure how good an overclocker the 850 is, but this is what you will do. First, try a front side bus speed of around 105, you will have to do it this way, since the multiplier is locked at 8.5. Be sure and disable speed error hold in the Softmenu. If it takes that OK, you can start going up in small steps until you reach the point of instability at default voltage. At that point, you start adjusting your voltage in small steps, only .05v at a time, keeping a very close eye on your temps. Basically, these are the only two adjustments you should need initially and you start adjusting and testing each in small increments. Most people feel that the voltage should never be adjusted higher than 15% over default and then only with good temps. You may need better cooling to get very far, but good cooling does make a big difference in results. As far as FSB goes, well the sky is the limit. Actually, the CPU is the limit, because it will let you know when it's unhappy. Once you establish the upper limit of your CPU, then you can play around with tweaking memory settings and such to see if you can get a little more, however I usually stop where it seems comfortable, because I want my memory timings to be set for maximum performance. I'll give up a few mhz in CPU power for the additional ram latency. Hope this helps and good luck!
