Well basically if you do plan to use RAID you gotta decide what kinda RAID u wanna use. With RAID-0 u basically have parallel arrays. However, if one of the drives were to fail u basically would lose all the data because half of the data is on one drive and the other half on the other. With the other RAID types u will probably waste alot of drive space. So it really depends on what u plan to use your computer for. RAID doesn't really that great of performance increase for all the potential problems it could have. But in theory its like having one 14400 rpm hd.
