Check out the signature and tell me what you think.

Keep in mind, this is my first post and first hands on experience building a new rig. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm overseas right now, but I hope to return soon, and all the parts should be shipped by then.

Thanks.

You definitely should have a nice setup there. What kind of heatsink do you plan to use?

I've also purchased a Zalman fan for the 775 spec. The reviews seemed good enough, and I don't plan on OC'ing enough to require water cooling. Here's the fan. (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835118003)

I also went for a Thermaltake case with some decent space, I'm just hoping its decent enough to fit in that 1000W PSU and the new monstrous size of graphics cards. I guess I'll find out soon enough. Here's a link for the case I got. (http://www.xoxide.com/thermaltake-armor-case-silver.html)

Oh, and thank you for the welcome. I think I'll be comfy here from all that I've read so far.

1) Can't have a quote in your sig
2) Can't link to outside website.

Just thought I'd warn you.

Anyway your setup looks good.

Man, I'm jealous. Looks very good. Probably exactly what I would choose if I had the dough. Only one question - why one 500GB drive vs. a RAID array of two 250GB's? If the parts haven't shipped out yet, I'd change my order. 2x 250GB drives w/16MB cache each = FAST.

Plan on adding another 8800GTX soon as well? I'd hope so with that PSU. As well the Raid suggestion is a good one if you plan on going that way. It definatly does help speed wise.

Looks good.

Well, this being my first build from scratch ever, I'm feeling very dubious about my ability to set up any kind of RAID config. Plus the mobo has had some issues with RAID if I remember correctly. They've released a new BIOS for it, but I'm still gonna wait on that aspect. Who knows? Maybe I'll buy another 'Cuda in a few months and RAID it up...and once I learn a little more about it.

You caught me. I want to add the second GTX when I can rationalize to myself dropping over $1k on just video cards. We'll see how the one plays out for now.
