i'm trying to build a business machine and i'm up in the air about which cpu to use, i have not heard anything bad about either processor and everything good. this machine will never be oc'd and will never process enough data to use all of either cpu but want something that will remain upto date for a while. custom software provider is a real dell homer :bang head and dell pushes the c2d hard these days. does anyone have an opinion on this comparison? c2d e6600 2.4ghz or the p-960d 3.6ghz both are priced about the same.

An E6300 would destroy a PD-960. I'll go grab some benchmarks for you.

Conroe, C2D is the way to go. Its more efficient and runs cooler, with less power than any netburst chips.

agreed. it sounds like a e6600 would be overkill... i would go with a e6300 or e6400. or see if the e4300 gets launched this month if you really wanna cut costs.
